Laurel High Adventure!!!!

It has been a busy summer with YW Camp, Youth Conference, EFY... not to mention family vacations, but we managed to squeeze in our Laurel High Adventure before Kelsey and Shanice leave for college.

We had a great time at the National Whitewater Center in Charlotte! The girls (and Sister Hilton) were able to go on the zipline before our first rafting trip.

Our first rafting trip was awesome! It started out with Class II, but it didn't take long to get to the Class III & IV rapids. We did some surfing... and some of us even went swimming!

After lunch, we headed to the Ropes Course. It was a lot of waiting, but at least it was in the shade.
Just as we hit the water for our second rafting trip of the day, a huge storm cloud rolled in. We started down the rapids, but when the thunder and lightning got closer, the sirens went off. We took shelter and waited for the storm to pass.
As soon as the storm was over, we were back in the water. For some, it was more fun the second time. We even had a couple more swimmers!

After everyone changed into dry clothes, most of us were done for the day, but some of the more adventurous decided to do some rock climbing.

It was a long, but wonderful day!!! Can't wait till next year!!!

Happy New Year 2011!!!!

It was so fun to celebrate the New Year with so many amazing youth!!! I was so proud of the Summit Ward young women. You were truly "examples of the believers" - in your words, your actions and the way you were dressed.
You are beautiful!

LAUREL ENCAMPMENT

Our amazing stake leaders put together an amazing Laurel Encampment! Good food, not much sleep, but lots of fun!

BABY SHOWER

The Baby Shower (oops... did I just say "baby"???) was a huge success!!! I know Sister Arny and Sister Lowe were happy that so many of you were able to come. You made it fun!

I think we can all agree that Sister Poindexter makes the cutest cakes. EVER.

And Sister Zeller can come up with some pretty fun games.
